Our History
Organized by our founder a retired Law Enforcement Officer of over 35 years and Mounted Patrol Officer in 2021 after assisting Law Enforcement and the family's of 2 missing women in Bexar County Tx
Code of Ethics
Texas Mounted Search and Rescue is a registered Non-Profit search group comprised of former Law- Enforcement, Medical Personnel and Experienced Searchers. We provide support to clients during a most vulnerable and emotionally charged period of an unaccounted for loved one. As a Non-Profit search group, Texas Mounted Search and Rescue is committed to the highest ethical standards and making a positive difference in our community. All TMSAR Members are expected to conduct themselves professionally and in accordance with the guidelines set forth in our Code of Conduct. The code of Conduct reflects a commitment to TMSAR values and provides a framework to guide ethical conduct in a way that upholds the integrity and reputation of the TMSAR.
Integrity - We are open, honest, and trustworthy in dealing with clients, partners, law enforcement and the communities we serve.
Accountability – we are accountable – individually and collectively – for our behaviors and actions during a search and rescue operation to our clients and partners.
Safety - TMSAR is committed to ensuring safe and secure conditions for all volunteers, service animals, partnering search groups and Law enforcement as well as community supporters.
Confidentiality – All information received from clients, partners, and Law enforcement will be maintained with the upmost confidentiality. Leaking information will not be tolerated.
Communication- TMSAR if approached by Media requires that an officer in charge or PIO to be the only contact point. The appointed TMSAR member will rely on facts and actual experience when conveying information. TMSAR will maintain an arms-length relationship with clients to maintain professional perspective and avoid raising false hope and undue stress during a challenging time.
Financial Integrity –TMSAR is a registered nonprofit that bears the operating expense of their search and rescue operations through volunteer efforts. TMSAR will not imply, suggest, or expect financial reimbursement from clients. Donations made to TMSAR will be transparent and reported properly through nonprofit reporting processes.
